This old Valentine is from the George Vick & Sons Bakery, Orillia household.

On the front, two hands are joined inside a heart with a banner along the underside reading “My Love”. The front panel is partially stitched, partially held in place by tied yarn. Inside, the message reads,

Valentine Greetings

Annie M. Dudenhoffer

Annie was born in 1830 in England and moved to Canada in 1850. She lived in Atherly, Ontario until her death in 1915 at the age of 86, and was predeceased by her husband Andrew.

The card measures 15 cm x 11 cm (6″ x 4.3″) and the plastic-like material appears to be cellulose.
