After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to partner with Hibid to start an online auction!
Pick-ups will be on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm, and most auctions will be around 300 lots or so. Not too big that you fall asleep before you make your way through, not so small that you’re bored out of your wits. We have so much stuff that we kind of needed to do this anyway, and we figure it’ll also give us something to do in the winter when the store is quiet.
Treasures by the Locks isn’t going away any time soon—this is just adding to it.
No consignments yet—but soon.
We’re currently focused on moving some of our stuff so that we can set things up a little better here. Once we’re satisfied, we’ll open up consignment opportunities and make several announcements. So, no, you can’t bring your stuff to us yet, but you will be able to sometime soon. We’re also opening up the floor to current vendors to list things with us if they want to. They’re already here, they might as well!
What to expect from our auctions.
Our auctions will work similarly to other Hibid auctions in how they run, with bidding happening over several days and a gradual closing on the last day. You won’t have to set aside your entire evening to bid if you don’t want to. You’re able to put down your maximum bid and let the system bid for you to that point.
We’ll be running an auction every two weeks, and all bids start at $2.
Payment & pick-up
We have a ton of options for payment, just like we do in-store, plus PayPal and e-transfers. We’re able to send an invoice from our POS system (Square) that you can pay with debit, credit, etc., or we can do the same from PayPal. You’re able to send e-transfers. You can also just wait and pay the piper at the store—tap or insert your card into our debit machine and you’re good to go. Cash is good, too.
Pick-up will be two days, so plan accordingly. Saturdays and Sundays, 11 am to 4 pm. We’ll have everything ready for you, you’ll just go straight to the back of the store and talk to the scary lady at the desk. We unfortunately don’t have room for you to stay in the store and pick through your purchases, so you’ll have to go through them outside or in your vehicle.
